Seoul International Choreography Festival

The Seoul International Choreography Festival (SICF) has played a pivotal role in discovering talented young Korean choreographers and supporting their advancement onto the global stage since its participation in Rencontres Chorégraphiques Internationales de Bagnolet (International Choreographic Encounters of Bagnolet) in France from 1992 to 2007. It has made a positive impact on the Korean dance scene, fostering an environment where cultural, racial, and national barriers dissolve, uniting artists through creativity and freedom.
In 2008, the festival was renamed SCF (Seoul Choreography Festival), evolving into an international event where distinguished choreographers from Korea and around the world gather to exchange and present works that reflect the spirit of contemporary dance and art. In 2024, the festival is being rebranded as SICF (Seoul International Choreography Festival) to further its global reach and ambitions.
For its 33rd edition, SICF is undergoing a complete reorganization under a new festival team, introducing innovative programs designed to enhance its creative and international scope. By incorporating market-inspired interactive elements, the festival aims to foster deeper connections among artists, audiences, and industry professionals while strengthening the international distribution of Korean contemporary dance and expanding its global network.
As Korea’s only choreography-focused rather than dance-focused festival, SICF delivers unique and profound artistic experiences and explores new possibilities for contemporary dance, positioning itself as a leader in shaping the future of dance festivals.
